Music Review: Barry White – All-Time Greatest Hits
With the explosion of the “Classic R&B” format taking place across American radio,
I felt it was time to honor one of the greatest in this genre. Barry White has been an icon for 30 years. What
is so special about Barry (other than his unforgettable voice) is he also is a top notch writer, producer, and
conductor.
This 20 song masterpiece contains all the classics, the #1 from 1974, “Can’t Get Enough
Of Your Love, Babe,” the introspective, “You’re The First, The Last, My Everything” and my personal
favorites, “Never, Never Gonna Give You Up” and “It’s Ecstasy When You Lay Next To Me.” It’s
fitting the disc begins and ends with Barry conducting the Love Unlimited Orchestra on the timeless “Love’s
Theme” and the equally satisfying “Satin Soul.”
There are many adjectives used to describe Barry White and his music; seductive, sexy, smooth,
pure, and sensual just to name a few. After listening to Barry once you undoubtedly know why he is nicknamed “The
Maestro.”
In my now many years, I have not met a single soul who dislikes Barry White, so put this “All-Time”
collection in yours today! 5 Rocks.
